A wedding anniversary.
We are not perfect and life is not a fairytale, but I am sure glad I'm married to him. He's a gift I sometimes feel I don't deserve.
This morning I woke him with sweet orange rolls fresh out of the oven then he surprised me with lunch at Poplar Pub (one of our favorite SLC spots to eat). The real celebrating happens this weekend though. I have a few surprises up my sleeve.
Here's a tune in honor of our special day. We walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of this song, played by Chris's sweet cousin Josh.

Off the grid.
I missed music tuesday this week. I might have missed it last week too? Hmph. I'm not even sure, and I'm too lazy to look . I'm a bit frazzled right now, so I'll likely be off the blog grid for a while.
This is one of my new favorite songs, from my new favorite movie.
If you haven't watched Drive, please do. The understated love story melted my heart.

Gotye in Portland.
This concert was knock-your-socks off incredible. Life changing, moving,
exciting, high energy. Hmm my mind overflows with adjectives when I
think about it. I may or may not have burst into tears twice during the night. Words don't really suffice. These photos might help, but they still won't reflect my feelings of joy for this night.

I lurked outside this tour bus for a few minutes. Chris left me there. |

The Crystal Ballroom is a historic building with mural-painted walls and sprung hardwood floors. It's got quite the past. |

Kimbra opened for Gotye. She gets down onstage. Majorly. |
Surreal artwork projected on the stage the whole time. |
During Bronte. Guys. You know how I feel about Bronte. |
A great view. |
Banging the hell out of the drums during Eyes Wide Open. |
Concert love. |

Music tuesday.
Gotye and Kimbra were amazing. I was over the moon the entire concert. There will be a post on that soon. In the mean time, here's my newest favorite Gotye song. Simple and honest.
Gotye. Giving Me a Chance.

Music tuesday.
Ben Howard. Only Love.
All Ben Howard songs are divine. They are just laid-back, simple, inspiring tunes. Shout out to Chris for finding Ben.
Enjoy.

Greg Laswell. And Then You.
Again, not new...but adored. We used it at our wedding and on the wedding video.

Music tuesday.
Oops. It's Wednesday.
This is not new music. This song has been a favorite for years, but I'm still sharing. Enjoy!
The Shins. Sea Legs.
Also, some pretty lyrics art to go with it

(Artwork is from Wooden Toy Publishing. But don't try to buy it. We did, and it didn't work out.)
